"Lost Voices" is an exhibition catalog of photographs and stories shot in and around New York City by Stephen Shames, Susan Meiselas, and Brena Ann Keneally. Each individual has used photography to help raise awareness on issues involving child poverty, race, drugs, and abuse. The photographers were chosen due to their style, location and relationship to their subjects. The photographs were shot in the 1970's - 2,000's in areas blind to societies eyes. The photographs act as gateways into people's lives who have learned to grow and adapt to their surroundings. The work is intended to share voices of those who had no voice, and to tell their story.
